Stepping Stones Preschool Cares About Kids

About Us

Mission Statement & Philosophy

Our mission is to provide a culturally diverse preschool community that incorporates family involvement while administering developmentally appropriate learning focused on each child’s individual interests and experiences.

We believe each child is a unique and unrepeatable human being. We also believe playing is the essence of the early childhood years and are convinced that through playing, children learn, explore and grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

We Are Active…
The Stepping Stones Preschool program is based on the belief that young children are capable of making decisions and solving problems performing or participating in activities that are interesting to them personally.  We encourage them to become active-learners –  to discover, question, and make decisions.  We strongly believe that allowing children to be children creates amazing adults!

We Are Learners…

We believe in learning while we play and explore.  When planting a garden together, children learn about weather, seeds, textures, nature, and growth. When playing alphabet games and exploring letter sounds, children will develop pre-reading skills. When counting and sorting with parents and teachers each day, children will learn numbers and math skills.

We Are Unique…

Our goal is for the children we teach to be aware of the world they live in and the fact that they are all unique and unrepeatable human beings. We work at helping each child feel good about themself and their abilities while providing a wide range of developmentally appropriate activities that broaden their horizons now and help them become a lifelong learner.

We Are Community Builders…

We strive to achieve a classroom community. When working and playing with other children, parent helpers, and teachers, the children not only develop their own personal socialization skills, but also develop a sense of community. We believe in learning necessary academic skills through play.

Parent Board of Directors

Our volunteer board is composed of parents, guardians grandparents, etc., who are actively involved in the daily operation of the school. The board conducts, fundraisers, plans community events and are involved in even the day-to-day decisions made at the school. In addition to being a great way to be further involved in your child’s education, being a member of the board is fun and a great way to meet new friends, attend fun activities and even comes with some great benefits such as priority selection of Parent Aide Days and Teacher Babysitting Days!

We are always looking for enthusiastic, hard-working, child-adoring parents to help our team!  If you are interested in being a part of the parent board please contact the office and we will get you started!
